Cristiano Ronaldo Donation to Kerela ??

Cristiano Ronaldo Donation to Kerela ??

Has Cristiano Ronaldo donated Rs 77 crore to help victimes of Kerala floods? Posts about Ronaldo's donation are going viral on social media.

Tweets, posts and messages claiming that Ronaldo has given Rs 77 crore for the ongoing relief work in the flood ravaged Kerala is doing the rounds on social media. The messages claim that the 33-year-old Portuguese footballer donated the huge amount.

Many even criticised the central government and Indian celebs by comparing them to Ronaldo’s gesture.

However, there is no proof or confirmation that Ronaldo has donated money for Kerala. There's is no mention of any donation or even a message regarding the Kerala floods on his official Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

However, there are many Indian fans and followers who have appealed to him to help the Kerala flood victims.

Ronaldo may have donated or may donate in future towards the Kerala flood relief, but so far there is no confirmed or indication of this apart from some unreliable tweets and WhatsApp forwards.

On the other hand, celebrities from all across India have come forward to lend a helping hand to the flood victims. Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Sunil Chhetri are amongst those to have pledged support to Kerala.

English football club Liverpool and Spanish giants Barcelona had also offered support to those affected by the tragedy.

This is not the first time that news about Ronaldo making a charitable donation has turned out to be fake. In 2014, a viral news claimed that Ronaldo had donated $8 millions dollars to the earthquake relief effort in Nepal. But the charitable organisation Save the Children in Nepal which was said to have received the money refuted the claims and put out a statement saying Ronaldo made no such donation.

2018 PGA Championship leaderboard breakdown: Full coverage 2018

2018 PGA Championship leaderboard breakdown: Full coverage 2018

The 100th PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club appeared to be headed towards becoming a low-scoring affair. Gary Woodland pushed the lead deep into the red numbers late in the afternoon with his 6-under 64, besting Rickie Fowler's round of the day (65) from the morning, but a majority of the contenders had to battle back from bogeys and double-bogeys around an unfamiliar track and finished the day closer to even par.

Only 31 of the 156 players in the field shot 2-under or better, and more than 40 golfers in the field are packed in ties between 1-under and 1-over. Former major winners like Dustin Johnson and Jason Day are lurking ahead of that pack, but it still feels like anyone within six strokes of the lead has a chance.

Among the group at even par are Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Along with Justin Thomas (-1), they battled through a morning round of ups and downs in the premiere supergroup of the day. None of the three are totally out of it, but there's dozens of names between them and Fowler on the leaderboard after one round of play and a lot of ground to make up.

So while there's a couple of names out in front, this still feels like a wide open tournament after 18 holes. Storms during the week limited the practice time, and after getting a good look at the course, we should expect more aggressive play and lower scores in Round 2.

Here's how the leaderboard looks going into Friday ...

1. Gary Woodland (-6): One of the field's better drivers of the golf ball caught fire on the back nine, throwing down a five-birdie 30 to close out his 64. The former Kansas Jayhawk had a big crowd of friends and family pumping him up through the round, which one of the best putting rounds of his career.

2. Rickie Fowler (-5): Playing what he described as "target golf," Fowler avoided trouble and breezed his way around the course to tie his best score in a major and take the clubhouse lead (which held until Woodland's late afternoon 64).

T3. Zach Johnson (-4): When it was predicted that Bellerive would be beneficial to the bombers off the tee, experts started to trend away from Johnson with their picks. But why not ZJ? He barely hit half of the greens in regulation during his 66 but still finished with five birdies while having one of the shorter driving averages in the field.

T3. Brandon Stone (-4): Thursday's 66 was Stone's best-ever round in a major championship, and he continues to ride momentum from a strong Scottish Open performance last month. He putted the ball well and the swing looked good, making Stone a serious dark horse to keep your eye on going into Friday.

T5. Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Justin Rose, Ian Poulter, Kevin Kisner, Pat Perez, Thomas Pieters, Stewart Cink, Ollie Schniederjans, Austin Cook, (-3): DJ flirted with the lead late Thursday afternoon before carding two bogeys on the final five holes to fall back to this crowded group at 3-under. Day was rock solid through the morning. Poulter started hot and then cooled off. Anyone from this group is going to sleep tonight feeling like they have a shot to win the 2018 PGA Championship.

Fortnite’s Summer Skirmish event has an innovative format this week

Fortnite’s Summer Skirmish event has an innovative format this week

Fortnite’s Summer Skirmish event has an innovative format this week

Epic Games has been experimenting with the rules of its weekly Fortnite events, called Summer Skirmishes, since the first disastrous week. But the latest format, debuting tomorrow, may be the company’s best one yet.

The tournament type is called Kingpin, and this is how it works:

The team with the most points at the end of eight matches wins. Eliminations earn players points towards placement at the end of the event. Earning a Victory Royale will provide a team with a 3x Elimination bonus in the next match.

Teams get one point for each elimination, but earning a Victory Royale means that eliminations will be worth three points in the next round you play. Earning more than seven eliminations will make each elimination worth double the points in the next round. It’s a clever twist for the scoring system, due to how it changes the incentive structure for each team.

Going for a Victory Royale in doubles when you have a high level of competition means that it doesn’t always pay to be aggressive; sometimes it can be better to let the other teams thin themselves out. But earning a Victory Royale gives you a massive incentive to be aggressive in the next round, because your eliminations are now worth more points. Getting over seven kills also gives you a good reason to go looking for virtual blood, since your eliminations are worth double in the second round.

One of the best things about non-competitive Fortnite is that so many different people have so many different goals; it often doesn’t even feel like you’re playing the same game. The players trying to finish their challenges are going by a different set of rules than those who are trying to maximize their experience points, and the same thing can be said of players who are just trying to win. The Kingpin format simulates that environment by varying the incentives and scoring rules on a per team, per rounds basis depending on how that team performed in the previous round.

This is going to be a fun one to watch. The first event with these rules takes place on Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET, and the second event will take place on Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET.
