Punjab Farmers on Alert After Locusts Attack Crops in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh . Punjab has been put on alert after swarms of locusts attacked crops in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, officials said on Wednesday.

Farmers have been asked to keep an eye out for any locust activity, they said.'

The locusts initially entered Rajasthan from Pakistan. From Rajasthan, they also entered Madhya Pradesh over the past few days.

"An alert has been issued in whole Punjab (in the wake of locust attack in other states)," Punjab Director Agriculture Sawtantar Kumar Airi said.

A swarm of desert locusts that infested Jaipur on Monday morning could be headed towards the capital, if wind speed is favourable. Delhi has been kept on alert as such swarms are currently active in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, which is the most affected state.

Cristiano Ronaldo Donation to Kerela ??

Has Cristiano Ronaldo donated Rs 77 crore to help victimes of Kerala floods? Posts about Ronaldo's donation are going viral on social media.

Tweets, posts and messages claiming that Ronaldo has given Rs 77 crore for the ongoing relief work in the flood ravaged Kerala is doing the rounds on social media. The messages claim that the 33-year-old Portuguese footballer donated the huge amount.


Many even criticised the central government and Indian celebs by comparing them to Ronaldo’s gesture.

However, there is no proof or confirmation that Ronaldo has donated money for Kerala. There's is no mention of any donation or even a message regarding the Kerala floods on his official Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

However, there are many Indian fans and followers who have appealed to him to help the Kerala flood victims.

Ronaldo may have donated or may donate in future towards the Kerala flood relief, but so far there is no confirmed or indication of this apart from some unreliable tweets and WhatsApp forwards.

On the other hand, celebrities from all across India have come forward to lend a helping hand to the flood victims. Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Sunil Chhetri are amongst those to have pledged support to Kerala.

English football club Liverpool and Spanish giants Barcelona had also offered support to those affected by the tragedy.

This is not the first time that news about Ronaldo making a charitable donation has turned out to be fake. In 2014, a viral news claimed that Ronaldo had donated $8 millions dollars to the earthquake relief effort in Nepal. But the charitable organisation Save the Children in Nepal which was said to have received the money refuted the claims and put out a statement saying Ronaldo made no such donation.

Government Approves Digilocker; Soft Copies Of Driving License, Registration Now Legal

The Central government has stated that the documents stored in Digilocker will qualify as original documents and will be accepted when shown to government authorities.

DigiLocker is a "digital locker" service operated by the Government of India that enables Indian citizens to store certain official documents on the cloud.

The rule is effective immediately across India
No need to carry multiple documents on person



In a bid to encourage digitalisation, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a notification that a digital copy of documents such as driving license and a vehicle's registration, insurance etc. which are stored in Digilocker or mParivahan mobile app, will now be accepted legally along with the actual physical documents. Also, in accordance with the Information Technology Act of 2000, digital copies accessed from the Digilocker will be treated as original documents as well. The rule has been made effective immediately across India. Bihar along with Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka were the first states to accept documents on Digilocker as legal documents. All states and union territories have been notified to accept driving licenses and vehicle documents through the Digilocker or mParivahan app.


What you need to make it work is just the Digilocker or the mParivahan app and authenticate the same with your Aadhaar number. Afterwards, you will have to enter your driving license number, registration documents etc. and save them in the app. Whenever called upon to show the documents by traffic cop, for example, all you have to do is show the authorities the QR code and they will get the details.


Also, in case the vehicle needs to be impounded for any reason, the authorities can simply access the government's Vahan or Saarthi database through the eChallan system and not need to seize the actual documents of the car or the person in question.

The step was taken after the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways received a number or RTIs and grievances saying that the documents produced digitally were not accepted or considered valid by the traffic police or the motor vehicle department.


Any data with regards to the insurance of new vehicles and also renewal of insurance will also be uploaded by the Insurance Information Board (liB) on the Vahan database on a daily basis now and it will be reflected on the mParivahan and eChallan app of the Ministry. If the vehicle registration details on the mParivahan and eChallan app contain the details of the policy which is in-force, then the requirement of a physical copy of the insurance certificate will not be enforced either.
